“Artists are people driven by the tension between the desire to communicate and the desire to hide.” – D.W. Winnicott –

“It may be unfair, but what happens in a few days, sometimes even a single day, can change the course of a whole lifetime…

“And that’s the thing about people who mean everything they say. They think everyone else does too.”

“There is only one sin, and that is theft… when you tell a lie, you steal someone’s right to the truth.”

“I wondered if that was how forgiveness budded; not with the fanfare of epiphany, but with pain gathering its things, packing up, and slipping away unannounced in the middle of the night.” “When you kill a man, you steal a life. You steal his wife’s right to a husband, rob his children of a father. When you tell a lie, you steal someone’s right to the truth. When you cheat, you steal the right to fairness.”

“Time can be a greedy thing-sometimes it steals the details for itself.”

Khaled Hosseini, The Kite Runner –

I am an avid reader.  These quotes portray a little of how I experience life. We are owed the right to the truth, who we are and where we are and even time itself should not have the right to hold us hostage. People with vision should always be encouraged to share what they can see, with those who cannot. I gladly share in this work my limited moments of epiphany with the measure of vision which I have.

If you have made it to this blog/ website about some of the details of my exhibitions – you are where you should be – I find this song very inspiring. It was written and produced by a singer called Jon Henrik Mario Fjällgren,  a Colombian-Swedish-Sami singer and jojkare, an interpreter of Sámi Joik. He created this in the quiet and stillness of his surroundings, thinking of his best friend’s death.  Our family recently suffered the bereavement of someone, a father so young.  In the expression of other’s art, sharing their pain, we also find solace. I dedicate this page to his memory as a seeker of truth and solace for whom this life, was an unlikely fit. sEE 2 songs here.
